  • High Sierra and new features

A new macOS 10.13 High Sierra will be released on the 25th of September. The new version will be supplied with a new Apple File System, improved graphics, photo editing tools and filters, better video support etc. Developers also paid extra attention to privacy in Safari, now it’s impossible for advertisers to track user web browsing activity.

  • To launch or not launch Office applications under High Sierra

Microsoft recommends for people who use Office 2011 on Mac not to upgrade their operating systems to macOS 10.13 High Sierra, as they may experience issues with applications. For those who work with Office 2016 on Mac it’s suggested to update application versions to 15.35 or later (15.35 was released in June, 15.36 – in July, 15.37 – in August).

  • Microsoft comments

For Office 2011: “Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Lync have not been tested on macOS 10.13 High Sierra, and no formal support for this configuration will be provided.”

In case you are using Mac, it’s up to you whether to update or not to update your OS. As a web development and mobile app development company we wanted to inform you about such news.
